Market Screener for F&O: Price, OI, PCR and IV

Instead of switching between ten tools to check which stocks are trending, where open interest is building, which sectors are strong and what the IV and PCR are, Stolo's Market Screener puts all of it in one filterable dashboard. Every F&O instrument as a row, with its price, futures and options data, and a set of filters that narrow the whole market to the setups you want in seconds.

Market Screener Analysis in Stolo

The problem it solves

The F&O list runs well past 180 stocks plus the index names. Checking each one for a price move, an OI build and a supportive PCR by hand is impossible, so most traders watch the same fifteen names and miss the rest. The screener checks every instrument on every refresh and, once you stack a couple of filters, hands you a short list where more than one signal agrees.

Key terms explained

TermWhat it means
Buildup trendPrice and OI combination: long buildup, short buildup, unwinding, covering.
PCRPut OI divided by call OI for the instrument.
ATM IVImplied volatility of the strike nearest the price.
SparklineThe mini intraday chart in each row.
Futures percentage changeThe day's move in the futures contract, the cleaner momentum read than spot.

A worked example

It is 10:15. You want the day's cleanest bullish setups.

  • Filter: gainers, futures percentage change above 1.5, trend long buildup, PCR above 1.
  • Six names come back. You sort by futures percentage change.
  • The top one is a metals stock, up 2.4 percent, OI up 18 percent, PCR 1.3, IV steady.

The read: fresh longs, put writers supporting, no volatility drag. You click the row to open the instrument, check the option chain and open interest for the strike-level picture, and set an alert while you wait for a pullback to enter.

info

The screener is a research tool. Stolo does not place trades. It surfaces candidates; you confirm and execute through the option chain or your connected broker.

How traders use it

  • Momentum leaders. Gainers, high futures change, rising OI, sorted by futures change.
  • OI setups. A buildup trend filter plus a PCR range, so positioning and sentiment agree.
  • Reversals. Short covering or long unwinding labels for a fade shortlist.
  • Sector rotation. Pick a sector and sort by price change to see the group's trend at a glance.

Frequently asked questions

What data does the Market Screener show?
For every F&O instrument it shows spot price and change, futures LTP and change, futures open interest and volume, the ATM strike, PCR, ATM IV, call and put OI and their change, a buildup trend label, and a mini intraday sparkline. It is the whole market's price, futures and options picture in one row per name.
Which filters can I use?
Sector, index, gainers or losers, the OI buildup trend (long buildup, short buildup, long unwinding, short covering), an IV range, a PCR range, a futures percentage change range, and an OI percentage change range. You can also filter by specific stock names.
How do I use it to find momentum leaders?
Filter for gainers, a large positive futures percentage change and rising OI, then sort by the futures change. That returns the stocks moving hardest with fresh money behind them, which are the candidates for an intraday trend or breakout trade.
How do I find OI-based setups?
Filter by the buildup trend. Long buildup with a PCR above 1 finds stocks where fresh longs and put writing agree on a bullish view. Short buildup with a PCR below 0.8 finds the bearish version. Stacking the OI and PCR filters narrows the market to setups where two signals line up.
Can I spot reversals with the screener?
Yes. Price up with OI falling is short covering, and price down with OI falling is long unwinding. Both mean an existing position is being closed rather than a new one opened, which often precedes a stall or a turn. Filter for those buildup labels to build a fade or mean-reversion shortlist.
Does the Market Screener update in real time?
Yes. The results refresh continuously through market hours so the price, futures and options data stay current, and the sparkline updates with them.
Can I combine several filters at once?
Yes, and that is the point. A single filter returns a long list. Two or three together, for example sector plus long buildup plus a PCR above 1, narrows the whole F&O universe down to a handful of names worth looking at.
How is this different from the IV Rank or ORB screener?
The Market Screener is a broad, all-in-one snapshot of the whole F&O market that you filter. The IV Rank screener does one job, ranking implied volatility, and the Opening Range Breakout screener does one job, finding intraday breakouts. Use the Market Screener for a general scan and the specialised screeners for a specific setup.
Does it cover stocks and indices both?
Yes. The major indices such as NIFTY, BANKNIFTY, FINNIFTY and MIDCPNIFTY, and the full universe of F&O stocks.
Which plan includes the Market Screener?
It is part of Stolo's paid analysis access and can be tried on the Trial plan, which starts at 299 rupees. See the subscription plans page for the current tiers.
